Daniel N. Aloi received his B.S. (1992), M.S. (1996) and Ph.D. (1999) degrees in electrical engineering from Ohio University, located in Athens, Ohio, USA. His professional employment positions include Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio University (1999-2000),Senior Project Engineer at OnStar, Incorporated, a subsidiary of General Motors (2000-2002), and full professorin Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan from 2002 until present. Dr. Aloi is the Founding Director of the Applied EMAG and Wireless lab at Oakland University and has received in excess of $6M in research funding from a variety of federal agencies (NSF, FAA, NIST, and DARPA via the University of Michigan) and private entities (60+). He has authored/co-authored over 125 technical papers and is an inventor on 5 patents. Dr. Aloi's research interests reside in the areas of applied electromagnetics with emphasis on antenna measurements, antenna modeling/analysis and antenna design. He is a member of the Applied Computational and Electromagnetics Society (ACES), the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA), past member of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is also a member of SAE J3161/1 On-board System Requirements for LTW-V2X V2V Safety Communications standards development committee.
