Dr. Hatice Ceylan Koydemir is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, a member of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station Center for Remote Health Technologies and Systems, and Thurst 2 Co-Lead of the NSF-funded ERC Precise Advanced Technologies and Health Systems for Underserved Populations (PATHS-UP). Dr. Koydemir received her Ph.D. degree in BioMEMS in Chemical Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU). Following her Ph.D. in 2013, she joined the Bio and Nano-photonics Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a postdoctoral researcher and was appointed as an Assistant Project Scientist in 2018. In 2021, she joined Texas A&M University as a faculty member. Dr. Koydemir is the Director of the Integrated Biomedical Sensing and Imaging Laboratory of Texas A&M University, and her research interests are in the area of integrated devices, and machine learning approaches, including mobile microscopes, MEMS-based biosensors, micro-fabrication technologies, and wearables for point-of-care analysis. She has co-authored more than 140 publications in major scientific journals and conferences and holds seven issued/filed patent applications. Dr. Koydemir is a member of the SPIE, BMES, AAAS, and Optica, and a senior member of IEEE.
